Bio-Sketch


Saqib obtained Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering degree from N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, in 1998. He served as a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Systems Engineering, N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, from 1998-2000. He studied for his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, USA from Fall 2000-Winter 2001. After completing his degree at Wichita State, Saqib worked as freelance software developer in Dallas, TX, USA for about a year. He then returned to Pakistan in November 2002 and joined the Department of Computer and Information Systems Engineering, N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi as an Assistant Professor. Saqib is presently on study leave from N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.
He has served on the Executive Committee of the IEEE Karachi Section from 1998-2000 and from 2002-2005. From 2002-2005, He was also the Chair, Student Activities Committee of the IEEE Karachi Section. He also served as IEEE Student Branch Counselor at N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi from 2004-2005. He was part of the Organizing Committees of numerous IEEE international conferences in Karachi. He was elected as the Secretary/Treasurer of the IEEE Communications Society, Karachi Chapter in 2005. Saqib has been the Country Leader of INETA (International .NET Association) Pakistan, an international federation of usergroups interested in Microsoft .NET and related technologies. He has also been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional since 2005. Saqib joined LUMS as a PhD Student in Fall 2005.


Research Interests


His research interests are interdomain routing, label-switched networks and resource allocation issues in wireless networks.
